“EFKRANTIS” Awards at the LASKARIDES Foundation
For the 8th year in a row, “EFKRANTIS” Awards were laureated, at a ceremony organised by NAFTIKA CHRONIKA magazine, aided by the EKATERINI LASKARIDES Foundation and the Hellenic Union of Shipping Economists. In an auditorium filled with attendants, at the library of EKATERINI LASKARIDES Foundation, on Wednesday 18th of May 2016, the key players and supporters of the Hellenic Shipping Industry gathered to honour the awardees, being selected – as this is practiced each year – by the Awards’ Committee.
The Committee, which constitutes of established personalities into the shipping industry and the academic sector, nautical publications’ editors as well as past years’ awardees, has chosen eight persons and establishments who excell into the broad sector of shipping, by being merits of guise and value. During the ceremony, due to the completion of 85 years of publication of the NAFTIKA CHRONIKA magazine, a short film was presented, reporting the parallel ways of the magazine’s editions and the Hellenic Shipping’s growth.
The Award for the Manager of the Year was laureated to Captain Dimitrios Matthaiou, Managing Director of ARCADIA Shipmanagement Co LTD, who has been recently elected as the Chairman of the GREEN AWARD Organisation.
